Kate

Thompson

Architectural Intern

In her position as an intern and role as a student, Kate enjoys finding effective and artistic solutions to problems. Kate’s interest in architecture began in eighth grade, when she was blessed with the opportunity to go on a mission trip with her home church to Mexico where she helped build homes for families in need. Kate has since gone on this trip four more times and plans on continuing yearly. These experiences shaped her pursuit of architecture and gave her a greater understanding of how truly impactful spaces can be. She also feels drawn to architecture because of its sophisticated mesh between technicality and artistry.

Kate is on track to earn her Bachelor of Architecture from Cal Poly’s College of Architecture and Environmental Design in the Spring of 2027. While at university, Kate spent 2 years in the role of Residential Advisor (RA). This leadership position strengthened her ability to connect with peers and mentors, communicate effectively, and demonstrate responsibility.

At EHD Studio, Kate especially enjoys working on hospitality venues and custom single-family residential. Her adaptability and eagerness to learn contribute to the collaborative culture at EHD Studio. Outside of work, Kate spends her free time surfing, reading, and crafting.
