Centennial Plaza
Mixed-Use, Proposed
Overview:
Located in downtown Atascadero, CA, the Centennial Plaza activates a currently unoccupied site adjacent the Sunken Gardens and historic City Hall building.
The mixed-use project proposes a commercial area on the ground floor, including space for a restaurant, distillery, and mercantile shops.
The second floor offers indoor event space, an exterior deck, and bar area supporting the ground floor restaurant.
The third floor hosts residential units, each with exterior decks overlooking the Sunken Gardens and adjacent creek.
This project fosters a comfortable atmosphere where friends and family can gather and enjoy the indoor/outdoor fluidity . A series of bridges above the plaza connects the event space with the offices and weaves the two lots together.
A series of exterior small courtyards work in conjunction to create pockets of respite while integrating the existing plaza area and unifying the back side of the building.
